  13. Hey It's Greta Melendez. The code of Hammurabi influenced political thought by giving us the first guidelines or rules to follow, to keep order. His laws were based on strict justice which is how they influenced our government today. It basically taught us how to apply rules and punishments for certain crimes and to just in general keep order among society. I can't say i particularly agreed with his methods of harsh punishment. And the unfairness of how they were punished based on social class. We took the basic idea of what he was saying, and made it our own, in i guess a more fair manner. I think we still sadly somewhat judge in the court room; based on social status, education, and where you're from and such. But i do believe it's at least a lot less graphic and biased then it used to be.
